The General Company for Ports of Iraq hereby declares the mobilization of all its personnel in the Marine Control Department and the Search and Rescue Center within the boundaries of Iraqi territorial waters, following reports concerning the loss of two vessels. The Company affirms that its maritime divisions have not received any distress calls from the vessels Bridge 1 and Bridge 2, both sailing under the Bolivian flag.
The Company further explained that it has received electronic communications from security authorities in several ports within the Arabian Gulf, as well as from the owners of the two vessels, requesting any information regarding them. This request was made due to the loss of contact with their crews and the difficulty of communication during the past period.
The General Company for Ports of Iraq clarified that the vessels have not entered Iraqi waters. Moreover, the specialized maritime divisions, including Marine Control and the Search and Rescue Center, have not received any communication or distress signals from the crews of the two vessels, and no information is available regarding their current location.
The Company confirmed that monitoring operations are ongoing through satellite-based electronic tracking systems, in coordination with search and rescue administrations in neighboring countries. Any information or developments will be announced immediately upon receipt.
