Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani attended the ceremony marking the completion of the first section of the Development Road (the connecting road), extending 63 kilometers between Al Faw Grand Port and the international highway.

In an official statement, the Prime Minister highlighted:
– The road constitutes a fundamental pillar for Al-Faw Port and the Development Road, and stands among the most significant achievements of the Iraqi state.
– The inauguration of the first phase of the five berths, alongside tangible progress in the immersed tunnel and navigation channel.
– The project reflects the transition of the economy from a rentier model to one that supports agriculture, industry, and trade through vital infrastructure.
– Strengthening regional and international partnerships to attract investment and promote stability and prosperity.
– Coordination with local authorities, official institutions, and public sectors to overcome obstacles and ensure steady progress in implementation.
– The High Committee for the Development Road continues its meetings to guarantee project execution with the participation of national cadres.
