The General Company for Ports of Iraq has achieved a significant milestone by being officially listed among the global providers of Ship-to-Ship Transfer (STS) services, according to the latest registry issued by the international consultancy firm DYNAMARINE, which specializes in this field.

Dr. Eng. Farhan Al-Fartousi, Director General of the company, stated:
“The General Company for Ports of Iraq has accomplished a qualitative leap by securing its official inclusion in the global list of Ship-to-Ship Transfer (STS) service providers, as published by DYNAMARINE, a leading international consultancy in maritime operations.”

He emphasized that Iraq’s inclusion in this international registry is the culmination of years of dedicated efforts to modernize maritime services in line with the latest global standards. He noted that the launch of STS services at Iraqi ports marks a transformative step that will elevate the company’s standing among regional and international peers, while reinforcing the confidence of shipping companies and naval fleets in engaging with Iraqi ports.

He added that the company’s STS operations are managed using advanced equipment and highly qualified personnel, and have received excellent evaluations from vessels that have utilized the service—reflecting the company’s readiness and professionalism.

Furthermore, he explained that joining the international STS provider registry is expected to directly contribute to increasing the number of vessels arriving at Iraqi ports, boosting revenues, and expanding the scope of maritime services offered by the company in line with global trade requirements.

This achievement represents a pivotal step in the strategic vision of the General Company for Ports of Iraq to enhance service quality and strengthen Iraq’s position on the global maritime transport map.
