On Thursday, Dr. Eng. Farhan Al-Fartousi, Director General of the General Company for Iraqi Ports, chaired an important meeting at the Advisors Authority affiliated with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, to discuss the latest developments in finalizing the mechanism for operating Al-Faw Grand Port.

The meeting was attended by several advisors from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, staff from the General Company for Iraqi Ports, the Contracts Department of the Ministry of Planning, and representatives from the global consultancy firm KBR. The aim was to review the remaining steps and put the necessary arrangements in place to complete the work at the port.

Dr. Eng. Farhan Al-Fartousi stated, “The meeting discussed the technical and administrative details related to the operation of the port and ensuring the project’s implementation according to the planned strategies.”

He added, “We emphasized the importance of joint coordination among the various concerned parties to ensure swift execution and achieve the best results in the upcoming phase.”

Al-Faw Grand Port is considered one of the major strategic projects that the Iraqi government aims to implement to develop marine infrastructure and enhance Iraq’s capability for international trade exchange.
